Admirals Log:
Las Perlas cont
We were soon back in the Las Perlas and had a lovely time exploring the river Rio Cacique on the island of Isla Del Rey
Lois and I were rowed around in the dinghy by David
With Kathy and Gavin - lots of laughing involved - attempting to kayak in our inflatable!! They didn't fall in so they did very well.
After spending another week exploring the Las Perlas it was back to Panama to drop off Kathy and Gavin, pickup a part David needed for the clutch and head off on passage to Ecuador. We were spoilt in that we had Lois to help us on this passage, but as we had time constraints of meeting Lois's flight and picking up Laura in Quito we had to leave when the forecast was no wind the whole way!!!
What we did have was all of us crossing the equator for the first time!!
Now according to David's brother Mark - who was a professional skipper for many years - all equator virgins get initiated by having the last weeks slops poured all over them!!!
Well I don't know about you, but when it's your own boat, and you are all supposed to have this delightful initiation, a slight rule change might be in order!!
So to appease King Neptune we duly got dressed up,
Lois was the driving force in this!! She got us both motivated!!!
Drank to him with Baileys as we crossed, ate a gourmet breakfast of crepes suzette with bacon and eggs etc. (Any celebration and I am always keen for the excuse to cook up some yummy food!)
Still no wind though!!!!

Sooo more motoring to Bahia de Caraquez, Ecuador
